Motorcycle Safety & Service Recall

From time to time it is necessary to initiate a Recall or Service Campaign to inspect or carry out work on a motorcycle or scooter. It may be purely a product improvement campaign, but in some cases it may be safety related.

Benefits of Ownership - Warranty Cover

  • Warranty period is 3 years / 30,000 KMs (whichever occurs earlier).
  • Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship only.
Warranty Activation: The Warranty Period begins from the date of retail sales invoice of the motorcycle to the first owner or registered as Demo Motorcycle. The retail invoice date is considered as the start date for the Warranty Period. Once the Warranty Period has begun, it cannot be stopped or interrupted.

Exclusions

  • Normal wear and tear, ageing, deterioration or rusting of parts.
  • Damage caused by unauthorized modifications, accidents, or misuse.
  • Parts sourced from non-authorized channels or inferior parts.
  • Damage caused by external factors such as smoke, bird droppings, scratches, etc.

Repairs

  • Warranty repairs should be carried out only at authorized FD Motors Channel Partners.
  • Only FD Motors Genuine Parts should be used for replacements.
  • Warranty repairs are warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Other Terms

  • Customers must adhere to recommended services and use genuine parts to be eligible for warranty.
  • FD Motors has the right to approve, disapprove or reject any warranty claim submitted by Channel Partners.

A Service Campaign may also be initiated when a modification or replacement of a part is required due to a product improvement programme but not considered to be safety related. The work can be undertaken during routine servicing or repair, but we will notify owners to make you aware of the work required.
